Row Crops

In 2014, we diversified Meyer Cattle Company to include row crops and hay production with the purpose of feeding our growing cattle herd and the growing world population. Our acres are on a corn and soybean rotation with the incorporation of cover crops. The cover crops serve two purposes at Meyer Cattle; a hay crop to feed the cattle but also a method to sustain the soil.

Much like other businesses incorporate technology to make them more productive, we use similar technologies on our farm that will help us to provide food for the world. Agriculture is a risky business. Many of our successes are completely weather dependent. As a result, we use genetics that can tolerate drought to a higher degree and can produce higher yields to help us reach the goal of more total food produced. Additionally, we use other technologies including GPS for planting, mentoring the crop, and harvest to ensure that the crop is planted and harvested accurately in good stewardship of the land.

We enjoy all types of agriculture. We enjoy tractors and equipment and discussing the different management practices. We look forward to visiting with you!
